Linda had a plaque in her kitchen that she bought at the city flea market for a nickel. She lived and breathed by it. It spoke profound wisdom; a wisdom that reflected in her life.
When her heel broke to her favorite shoe, her dress tore at an unusual place. After she tried to remedy her outfit, her car wouldn’t start, forcing her to miss her flight to an important conference. Despite her misfortune, she was fortunate to miss the event. The hotel that was hosting the conference had an outbreak of bed bugs.
As she ate her breakfast, she looked to the plaque, hoping it would bless her with the right about of misfortune so the end would be most fortunate.
She whispered to herself the solemn words, “It only gets worse, before it gets better.”
