Sisterly Love
I found a letter in my locker. It was a simple envelope, no name, only a letter inside. I thought that maybe it was a flyer for an event.
No. It was an invitation of sorts. “Meet me at the gym after school.” Why would I? No offense, but I don’t even know who you are.
“Mako-chan!” Sakura yelled across the hallway.
I waved as she headed off with her teammates from volleyball. That’s when I stopped her.
“Ah, Sakura-chan!”
“Yeah?” She turned.
I handed her the envelope.
“Eh? That looks like a love letter.”
“Love letter?”
She smiled. “You got an admirer.”
“Me? Why?”
“Why not? Come on, you can wait for him while we’re at practice.”
Reluctantly I sat in the bleachers watching Sakura and the volleyball team practice. Not once did I see anyone look for me.
At the end of practice, I was frustrated.
“So, who’s the lucky guy?” Sakura asked.
“No one,” I said shaking my head.
Mako-chan waved to the team as they departed.
“Actually,” she said, blushing. “You’re looking at her.”
