“Don’t kill him!” Megumi screamed, breaking through the dark curse. Ryo lay still on the marble floor. Tsunario stood over him, towering over his defenseless body. Megumi, paralyzed and trapped to the wall, could only watch in fear.
“You do care for him still, despite all I’ve done for you.” A blade formed from her palm. “Don’t fret; this blade is nothing like yours or the Dragon’s. She held the blade above his throat.
Megumi pulled at the spell binding her to the wall. Pain washed over her face, straining to break free, fearful of Tsunario’s actions.
“I don’t understand how I could be so, dare I say it, fearful of his power. Look at him, powerless against a few blows.”
“Ryo! Wake up! Please!”
“Come now, Little Bird, do you believe your song will reach his ears? He’s seen what you’ve become, what you have done.”
“Ryo!”
“I grow tired of this.”
“As do I.” Ryo’s hand grasped the blade, gripping till blood flowed freely.
Tsunario floated away, surprised, almost fearful.
“You,” she hissed.
Megumi watched Ryo rise; she could feel a change, almost frightening. She couldn’t even utter his name. He glanced behind, catching a glimpse at Megumi, possessed by Darkness. All at once a power surged throughout his body, arching his back, wings ripped through is skin.
“I knew it!” Tsunario aimed the blade at Ryo. In a blink of an eye, Ryo had Tsunario in his grasp.
She smirked. “I’ve dreamt of this, but I doubt you are fantasizing the same as I.”
“Doubtful.” Flash, her blade at her neck.
“I do believe you are jumping the gun, Dragon Boy.” Flash, she was gone. “Did you honestly believe that I would allow you to touch me? Do not underestimate me.” Megumi fell off the wall. “Take her, she is no use to me.”
Despite the spell releasing her, Megumi was now paralyzed with a new fear.
Ryo looked at her, his violet eyes now a piercing silver. Wings shadowed him.
“Wh-what are you,” Megumi managed to utter.
